Multi-Room - Apple Music

When using Sony multi-room compatible speakers/devices does Apple Music stream via Wifi or Bluetooth when using the Sony Music Center(SongPal) app?

When connected to my Apple iPhone X and the Sony CMT-SX7 Hi Fi System, the Sony Music Center app just displays the wifi symbol (signal) and then ghosts out the bluetooth connection, to suggest it is using the Wifi to stream the music via my iPhone to my Hi Fi System. However, when I disconnect the bluetooth connection on my iPhone to the CMT-SX7 the music stops playing to suggest it's actually relying on the bluetooth connection to stream Apple Music!?

Plus does anyone have any real experience streaming an Apple Music subscription to a Sony multi-room grouped set of speakers/devices (Eg: Sony CMT SX7 grouped with a Sony SRS ZR5 in Wireless Multi-room set up)

I know Sony doesn't shout about officially supporting Apple Music streaming like it does with Spotify/Google Cast, but I'm able to play Apple Music just fine on my Sony CMT SX7.

Apologises in advance for all the questions in one post! (Hope it's not too confusing!?)

Kind Regards,

Warren

Hi Wozzy,

I'm pretty sure that Multi Room uses Wi-Fi rather than Bluetooth, so I'd recommend trying to start with making sure BT is disabled then connected to the group and play some content. It should play just fine.

If the same thing happens somehow and BT gets turned on making switching it off cause the connection to drop. Then I'd recommend trying again with a different phone (preferably the same brand) just to understand if this is related to your device somehow.

Hope this helps.
