I'd like to get advice on HOW to make BD-Live connection work for my SONY BDP-S550.....!
Because..... Despite a new/the "most modern" Modem/Gateway - a Thomsen TG789vn - correctly connected with/to the BD-player via the Ethernet in-/out-lets with a proper cable; it doesn't work/I can not make it work..... I have tried several support-tips and spent many hours putting a pressure on the tele/BB-operators support to getinfo how or what to do to make it work.....
And NO MATTER if I try the automatic download of an IP-adress with DHCP it dosn't work...... - Then it doesn't get a new IP-adress at all....
OR if I try to use manual setting I run into problems, because....... - Then I do not get all the correct codes/numbers/info needed from neither TELIA or SONY Sweden that is needed to effectuate all those settings.... And it is neither possible to get complete and totally correct info about WHICH of these numbers/info; like DNS code etc, etc that really is neceassary to fill in..... !
I am NOT a an IT-engineer - but I have 50 years of experience with audio-gear and electronics etc.... BUT of course I might miss something anyhow.... Although I tend to believe the extra firewall or something in the Modem is preventing the BD-player to make a connection with internet and get the BD-Live info I want to have...
The BDP-S550 HAS worked with this BD-Live function earlier with another Modem..... AND - YES - I do HAVE tried by resetting the whole player, the Internet-data, I HAVE formated the USB-memory stick...... And I really DO know all the steps in the BD-players menu very well.. AND.... I do have read the manuals page 57 etc... AND - YES - I do have downloaded the last software update for it earlier...
SO the question remains...... Is this depending on the BB-operators software and/or the Modem; i.e. this very Thomsen TG789vn modem....
OR is this problem depending on some special demand for method or info etc that I have to put in manually when trying to connect it to the internet/getting an IP-address etc in the menu steps for that....?
AND...... most important of all.... - Is this a problem for many/all/everybody that tries to connect their BD-players to the internet...... Or only to all that try it with this very Modem......
AND - is this a problem also when You try to connect also the newer versions of this/other BD-players to stream films etc from the internet through their BD-players having that facility....
Swedish respondents can answer in swedish.... otherwise OK also if in english, spanish, german, french etc european languages I can handle....
