I have a Sony Bravia TV connected to Sky HD via HDMI cable. The Bravia TV is also connected to a Sony DAV-DZ111 DVD Home Theatre System via a SCART cable. However, I can't play TV programs via the Home Theatre System.
Do I need additional Cables to connect between the TV and Home Theatre Systems to enable TV surround sound programs to play via my Home Theatre System?
Any help or advice would be appreciated,
Andy.
Hi, I am having similar problem with my Bravia KDL40EX403. Although not linked to SKY, i have a Panasonic Home Theatre System linked by scart cable and none of the internet stuff ( love film/You Tube/Iplayer etc.) will play through the external speakers. I had thought it was because i did not have a Sony Home Theatre but obviously that is not the case.
The wireless connection is fine and everything else works fine except this, frustratingly - is it because of scart cable, does it only work on HDMI? if so , my home cinema system does not have an HDMI connector probably as it's about 5 years old. but a very good sound.
Hopefully, someone out there can explain this to both of us in non-technical language.
Thanks, Ken.
