I have a bdp s570 and humax pvr connected by hdmi to the TV (a panasonic) and thence via audio output to a hi-fi amp. As I don't want any sound from the tv, the volume on that is set at zero and I get great sound from the hi fi, which does not have a remote. However, I can control the sound coming from the humax pvr via it's remote, but not the sound coming from the sony blu-ray player.
Why does the blu ray player remote control playback but not the sound volume? (The pvr remote control manages to do both.) (I have set the sony remote to control the tv volume, but that only turns up the tv sound which I don't want).
