How will upgrade of firmware affect recordings?

I have a disc with the latest firmware upgrade, ready to go!, my question is:- how will upgrading the firmware on this RDR-HXD 790 recorder affect the numerous recordings I already have on the Hard Drive? Can any body help and advise please

I will answer my own question, I took the plunge and updated the firmware, lo and behold the HDD recordings were left intact, so mission accomplished
