HT-XT1 switches itself off

My speaker system is linked to a new Sony TV and both are just a few months old.  The TV is set up to deliver all sound through the speaker system.  Problem is that the speakers randomly switch themselves off and the TV reverts to its own speakers.  Looking at the Settings on the TV sometimes it shows that the TV speakers are operative and sometimes it shows that the Speaker system is still active (which it isn't of course).

Has anyone come across this problem before and found a solution please as I don't want to have to start unplugging things and return the box to Currys.

Hi,

I bought a Sony TV and a soundbase yesterday and have the same problem, only worse.

The soundbase randomly switches itself off and then says the TV speakers are active due to a communication error.

I either get that or the Soundbase mutes itself.

This happened every ten minutes or so yesterday.

Did you manage to sort it out?

Hopefully not a silly question but did you guys upgrade the firmware once you connected to the internet either through wifi or cable?
