RDR-HX750 to Tv connection

Hello,

I am trying to connect RDR-HX750 to a Luxor HD19822D tv.

I have tried set up as per the manuals , using aerial and Scart leads, the dvd shows programmes on the front panel but I cannot get a picture.

I have tried all the TV settings via the AV button( TV,DTV, EXT-1, FAV etc)

Can any one please advise any other options?

Regards

Are you sure you connect the SCART cable to LINE3 - TV socket on the recorder?

The standard option is Video. Your TV should switch automatically to the AV input whenever you switch on the recorder (it seems you have only one scart EXT-1 in your TV).

I guess you may have a problem with the cable itself ot the SCART on the TV, try, if you can, with another device using the same cable/connection

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried two Scart leads without success.

I will try connecting the DVD to another TV and see how I get on.

If I can pick up an HDMI cable I will try this as well.

Hello ,

Yes , I have connected Scart lead to Line 3-Tv ( lower socket on back of recorder)

I have tried an alternative Scart lead , both work on a second TV.

I do not appear to be finding the AV output channel on the TV, but I have tried all the options listed.

In the DVD manual, page 114 lists Line 3 Out showing 3 options

Video

S-Video

RGB

Can you advise which is correct as I have tried all 3

Thanks for your time

Hello,

I have been advised by the local Sony Centre that the HX750 is analogue and I need a set top box.

I have tried connecting  a set top box via Scart lead into the DVD and by HMDI from DVD to TV but cannot get a picture. I  have selected HMDI on the TV.

I have also tried Scart from DVD to TV in place of HMDI lead, selecting EXT-1 on tv

Manual shows aerial In-Out of set top box to In-Out on DVD,to TV

Scart from Line 1 on dvd to Set top box

Either HMDI dvd to TV or Scart from Line 3 to tv

The set top box has aerial in/out, Scart to TV socket and Scart to VCR socket, have tried all combinations without picture

Any help would be appreciated

I didn't undesrtand that you were trying to have DVB picture out of your recorder. To check that the tv connection is working fine, have you tried to play any title from the recorder?

To select the output from the settop you should select via the input key the line 3 on which it is connected.

Thanks for your reply.

I can play DVDs. When I tried recording from Tv it was only black/white interference, which played back

I did not quite understand the selection from the set top part.

Manual shows Top Scart socket (LINE 1/Decoder) connecting to set top box

Lower Scart socket(LINE3-TV jack) connecting to TV

I have tried both a HDMI from DVD to TV and Scart, Line 3 to TV.

Manual shows default on LINE3 Out as Video, LINE 1 In default as Video

NTSC on PAL TV to on

Always remember that you don't have any more a tuner in your recorder so you have to record from the line3 input and be sure you have switched on the external decoder.

Thanks for all your replies and support, however I am no further on in getting a TV picture and will cut my losses and buy a DVD recorder with Free view.
