:smileycry:Please please is there anyone out there who can help. I have the above named wireless TV and I love it. However when I bought an IPad two years ago I encountered a huge problem. It interferes with the TV screen and splits it into two and then four and so on. I contacted Sony and the (un) helpful man told me to turn off the wireless on the TV which would obviously render it useless. So for the last two years all ipads in the house have been banished to my bedroom. Which is the furthest from the lounge, as anywhere else they affect the TV. (we live in a large five bedroom house BTW so this is not a small problem.) Fast forward two years and I bought yesterday a small Ipad mini hoping that as the technology has moved on I would be able to use it in the same room as the television...but no the same problem occurs. I am now faced with buying a new TV, which I don't want to do, and at this current time, due to the lack of help from Sony would not consider another Sony TV or returning my ipad mini to the store which I also don't want to do.
Anyone?????
Have you contacted your local service centre about this? There may be a patch which the Service centre had to install which could resolve the issue.
You can find your local one here - http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/repair/asc just give them a ring before hand and make it clear you have the EX1 Bravia with wireless HDMI and you are getting interference with other wireless devices. Ask if there is a software update they need to flash the device with?
Thanks
:smileyhappy:Thank you for this Catmambo. I getting SO desperate. When we first found the issue I spoke to the people where I bought it a "sony centre". They suggested a few things and then when they did not work I went into the town to see them and they had unfortunately gone into liquidation. Which is when I tried the sony helpline that I mentioned in my previous post. I can't remember where I got the number but obviously I did not bother going back to them. I will try this but I do not really understand what flash the device means but hopefully it will be cheaper than a new television.
Thank you. (I did press your thanks button as well ...hope it worked.)
ha - apologies yes its a bit techy but basically it means updating the software on the TV. Just explain exactly what I wrote in the previous note and it will be clear to them
Catmambo...are you still there??? Well I have tried contacting sony for which there appears to be only one number which gets you through to a call centre abroad. The first man I spoke to sounded helpful but said I needed to be in front of the television. He said he would call me back at 5.30pm, when I would be there. Before this he would send me an e-mail with instructions and it would help if I could follow them. By 3.30pm there was no e-mail so I phoned again and spoke to a lady who said I had misunderstood, there would be no e-mail just the phone call. At 5.40pm I had ,had no phone call so I phoned back with my case number. She said the first man had e-mailed me to say there was no update for my television. I asked if she could perform any checks and it became clear that she did not understand how this particular television works as talked about connecting the Tv to my router and various other things. I just want someone who knows the product and how to fix it. Surely it cannot be right that a TV that cost £3000 cannot have apple products in the house??????
My problem has been escalated at my request and I should hear back in 48 hours. Do you have any other suggestions??? Thank you.
Hi
Did you not just phone your local service centre? Type in your postcode to the link I shared previously and then give them a ring and explain what I wrote. Not much the call centre can do remotely I think.
Thanks
Hi Catmambo, that link no longer works. Either that or there are no service centres within 100 miles of Essex ,which just leaves me with the remote helpline. I can type service centre into google but of course I don't know then if they are official ones or not. Thank you for coming back.
Hi there teachergirl
Just tried the link that Catmambo sent and came up with the following:
I know why its confusing though. You either type in your Place or postcode and click find. It then brings up a map of UK/EU with nothing in it. What you need to do is select the Televison option from the dropdown box, and then it will find the places.
When you get the places highlighted, simply click on the information boxes on the map to bring up details. I circled them in the map above.
Hope that helps
Cheers
Thank you both so much. My quest to try and sort this will begin again in earnest
Oh No Quinnicus I don't know what I am doing wrong but I don't have the box that says television. So I still can't access it. Shoet of publishing me a real idiots guide could you just give me the names of those three , they look about right? Sorry
