I bought sony SMP N100 media player over the weekend, and happy with wifi that can play BBC iplayer and you tube. I used ASUS Oplay in the past and wondering whether there is anyway I can access the firmware through command line?
I am looking into the option of adding internet channels/radios, if possible. Many of the podcasts abd videocasts are not working as well, so if there is a way to access the firmware and make changes then that would be useful.
Also is it possible to use the USB optical drive for watching movies? I was able to use this using Asus Oplay.

What to fix:
The Player doesn't support all mkv files (through USB).
At first, I thought that was an audio related issue (DTS or/and AC3 instead of Stereo). But after a lot of encodings and testing a lot of mkv files, that isn't the case.
Few minor issues:
1. Pixelated/blocky subtitles.
2. Not displaying external subtitles with MP4 files? (My fix: Re-encoding MP4 to mkv with subtitles in a separate stream).
3. At audio bit rate greater than 1.5Mbps (mkv), Player reports "audio unsupported" but it can reproduce that audio track without any problem.
Regards.
Playback from USB devices possible.
Can't see new VAIO Server is the issue.
