UBP-X700 Bluray Player - Play mp3 music from USB / External HDD

Is it possible to introduce a "playlist" option for the playback of my favourite tracks?

Any advice / step by step guide  would be much appreciated.

Further research based on your advice identified the existing app named VLC provides a playlist creation tool for mp3 files plus includes a video guide so a good result and my sincere thanks.

Hi,

Have you tried to save a playlist file to the music folder and then playing it back with the player?

Cheers

Thank you Peter_S. No I have'nt tried creating a playlist, mainly because I'm confused as to where to start.

My mp3 tracks are currently stored on a windows 10 pc, which in the past I uploaded to Google Music and subsequently created a favourites playlist using Google Music to play my music. However recently Google withdrew Google Music so my tracks and 1 playlist have disappeared.

I assume to test out whether a playlist will actually work from a USB / HDD, i would need to first create a "playlist" using a compatible Mp3 app on the Windows 10 pc. Secondly, then load the playlist onto the same folder on the USB / HDD. Thirdly, try playing the playlist using the Sony UBP-X700.

So if the above steps are sound what Windows 10 compatible MP3 music playing application would you recommend?

Many thanks.

In addition I omitting to say that all my tracks have also been copied onto the USB / HDD under a folder named Music.

The most common playlist format with the highest compatibility is .m3u. This can be created with almost any Media player you have on your computer, including Windows Media Player.

Make sure the .m3u file is in the Music folder you mentioned alongside your tracks.

A basic workaround would be to create a folder which contains the tracks you want to be in your list. So each folder represents a "Playlist"
