Recently bought vgn-a517s with docking station and speakers. Is there some way that I can use this as a tv receiver and recorder - even after the switch from analogue to digital. Can anyone advise?

Hi howardavid and welcome.

Yes, you can but not with the analogue tuner inside the docking station.

You will need to buy a USB Digital DVB-T tuner and recording software.  There are several available including Twin-Tuner models.  Have a look at these: -
