WHY DOESN'T MY SVR HDT-500 RECORD WHEN THE TV IS TURNED OFF

My HDD recorder won't record anything when the TV is turned off and if I am recording something and turn the TV off to go out or to bed, the recording stops at that point, even though the recorder is on. The aerial cables and HDMI cable are set up correctly. It's so annoying!! Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Meddie47.

Try turning off "Bravia Sync".

SYSTEM MENU -> Setup -> Others -> Connection -> and set 'Control for HDMI' to "OFF".

This feature turns the HDT500 off when you turn off the TV - but it should not stop recording.

Try this and see if it fixes things - it is worth a go - even if it shouldn't happen.  If not come back.
