Your TV features a digital TV guide, accessed via the Guide button on your remote. This blog gives you an overview of what it can do.

The standard guide
Guide_1.jpg
The standard guide window shows you a timeline for the next seven days. You can see all the upcoming movies and shows for each channel. You can scroll down, up, left and right using the arrow buttons on your remote. In addition, you can use the blue and yellow buttons to move one day ahead or back.

The time of day is shown in the header underneath the date. The two numbers in front of the programme title indicate start times (i.e. minutes past the hour).

You will notice that some shows and movies are highlighted by colour. The colours indicate programme types: Blue > Sport, Green > Drama, Brown > Music, Purple > Movie.

Guide_7.jpgClick on any of the listed items to see further information about it e.g. for movies you can see information about the cast/crew. You have various search options when connected to the internet:
-    List related content in this genre or list by actor
-    Google search by title or actor to find similar content on the web.

You can watch or record a programme that has already been broadcast or, if the programme is coming in the future, set a reminder or timer recording.

To see what else the guide can do for you, use the left arrow button to open the guide menu on the left. You’ll find lots more options in this menu:

TV Selections
This option shows current and primetime highlights for the day and gives you an overview of current and upcoming programming.

Genre Guide
View movies and shows by type. Everything is arranged by genre for your convenience – so just select your preferred genre and find the content you’re interested in.

Guide
This option displays the standard guide.

Recorded title list & Timer list
These options give you easy access to your recorded titles and upcoming timer recordings. You can also use the title list button on your remote to access these lists.

Settings
Manage your Favourites and recording settings and select which guide you prefer by pressing the guide button (Standard or Genre guide).

Recently circulated information states that the TV Guide on my Sony Bravia 4k TV can access programmes that have already been shown by using the remote. Mine does not appear to be able to do this. Advice on how I can achieve this will be welcome.

My KDL32WD752 has never had an EPG that works. It shows what is on at the top of the screen but no programme guide. Very annoying when I want to record.

Hi,

I've recently bought a KD49-XD7005 TV set. Has the Page Down / Up function been removed off the red and green buttons when scrolling guide? I've found that a very useful function. Is there any way to either set it up or include in the next firmware release?

Thanks for your answers

Cheers

I've linked my Bravia 4K, using initial setup, to a TalkTalk set top box that uses the UK North West channel guide. When I select the TV's channel guide, it shows London channels, not North West channels. How do I make the TV's guide show the correct channels?

OThe guide menu doesn’t appear to be available in the streaming channels guide. The programme colours for different type (film, sports)  is displayed but the guide menu can’t be accessed to filter by genre. Is this expected? Should the guide menu be available for streaming channels or is it only an option for digital and satellite? Would be a useful feature considering how many channels can be added through IPTV.

Hi,

I've Am the owner of a KD55AF8 Oled  TV set. I’m annoyed about that the Page Down / Up function has been removed off the red and green buttons when scrolling the EPG.  I've found that a very useful earlier on. WHEN will it be included in the next firmware release? The buttons have no functions today.

We have two elderly sony models where the red/green up/down function works. Buying a new TV set shouldn’t be a step back!!

Looking forward to and thanks for your answers. 🐵

Regards.
