as described on android's jelly-bean details page, I am not able to see "photo sphere" (for 360º images) in 4.2.2 update for sony xperia l, is this the case for everyone or some problem with update in my phone?

sony xperia l is missing a gyroscope.
you wont be able to use the photospere option even if you install the nexus stock camera app.

Hello
You can install Google's 4.2.2 Camera which you can find on websites such as androidcentral.com etc. but the thing is that Xperia L does not have a Magnetometer without which you cannot use Photosphere so it won't show up in the Camera (Google Version) even after updating to 4.2.2.
Hope this helps.
EDIT : Here is the link http://www.androidcentral.com/get-photosphere-non-nexus-devices-google-edition-camera-app

Tried the app & it din't work, the photosphere option is not available.
Magnetometer is not the problem as its present in Xperia L (as listed on sony developer's website), there might be some other problem.

I already told you it doesn't work. I must have information about the wrong sensor then. There is one sensor which seems to be missing which is necessary for Photosphere, thus making Photosphere unable to launch on our phones.

@zafar : According to me, it really improved. But I've argued with many people here and I would tell you to try your hand at the new camera and form your main opinion.
