M4 Ram issue, shows only 883 MB...

Hi, My m4 after update to andro 6 shows only 883 MB Ram... it has 2 GB Ram memory, why is not the whole memory working? Its not all, my front camera is not working and the system is working really slow... I allready have repaired my smartphone via Xperia Center but the issue still occures. Don't write to me that I should go to the local servis, because that is the last thing that I will do. There must be any solution...

Still unusable... Still waiting for an update.. I need my phone back, not even lollipop downgrade fixed the problem... I have noticed that pressing my phone at the top left corner makes crash in blue screen and loop reboot ... Hardware problem?

Hi all, i have found a fix for my phone!!!

I decided to try and install the software once again using xperia companion. To my amazement it went well and my memory is now showing 1.8 Gb. I am now running 6.0.1 and all seems good at the moment.

Seems sony and androis OS are almost using 1Gb with nothing installed or running from stock. Hence the crashing etc previously.

I hope this works for you guys. I also just said yest to all apps services etc during setup.

good luck

Right, just went into the play store and update and install some apps and the phone crashed and upon reboot it was back to the 883Mb issue, so going to go through it all again. This time i will try not to update apps and just install the essential ones. It could be an issue with just 1 update...

It crashed again many times, mainly when exchanging information to a server i.e FB login.

So i have rolled mine back to lollipop and it works again.

thanks Sony for your non existant help and support...

Back up everything you can on your external drive, I used Google drive then restored factory settings.

The solution Sipho1120 is proposing didn't work for me... i just did a repair with Xperia companion, got a few blue screens... finaly managed to go through the whole setup process.. checked the RAM -> 883Mb.. did factory reset, got blue screens.. managed to go through the setup again.. and i'm back with 883Mb again.. so NO Change.

The M4 is next to unusable after the marshmallow (6.0.1) update and Sony remains pretty silent Slightly_frowning_Face

I'm really disappointed by the lack of support from Sony... was expecting better from such a reputable brand.

Sincerely,

Hi everyone,

I know you are waiting for a solution to this but I have yet to receive any further information on this case. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience this causes for you.

Please let me know if there's anything else!

Hi, well the problem is back on lillipop. I have installed Ram cleaner to see how much ram is being used. The phone was fully loaded and worked for a couple of days then i believe a whats app message came through and it crashed. Upon the restart i lost 1 gb ram.

I am starting to believe this is a hardware issue or an app that corrupts the memory not the firmware. It just so happens when we updraded to marshmallow it took more ram leaving us with less and we were able to see the ram consumption.

Would be good to know what apps we may have in common.
