Hi Every one!
My mobile is asking security password each time when screen is off / on. In the mobile settings for screen lock I have kept "Swipe". This is happening when I upgraded android version to 4.3.
I know the password but it is painful to enter the password each time when your screen is turned on.
Kindly help.
Thank you,
Manohar

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Do you have any antivirus or security app installed on your phone?
You can check what you have as device administrators under settings > security > device administrators.
Strange, try to set the screen lock to none under settings > security > screen lock and then restart your phone and change back to swipe. Do you still have a password to open the screen?
In that case I would suggest that you try to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the security password may be related to any 3rd party app that you have installed in your phone:

Hello Mr. Alexander,
I have tried the 1st option i.e. changing the screen lock to none then restart (still asking for secuty password) then I changed the screen lock back to swipe. Still each time the phone is asking for security password to access. Even when I receive any call I cant see the incoming call screen instead I see the security password screen, I have to enter the pasword 1st.
I have also tried the other option gave by you i.e. starting the phone in Safe mode. In this mode also phone is asking for security password each time when the screen is turned on/off. Please see some screen shots I have taken when the phone was in safe mode.
Good to hear that you sorted it out!
Hi All,
Did a lot of groundwork to find out the actual problem and it worked out.
- It is not a problem with your antivirus password. No need to change it, whichever antivirus you are using.
- It is not a problem with your SIM or PUK password.
The problem is with the X-Alert for Xperia app of Sony (which has permission to lock phone and doesn't allow to navigate to the settings).
Solution :
Disable the X-Alert Xperia app and remove from the Device administrator (Settings -> Security -> Device Administrator -> Click on X-Alert for Xperia and click Deactivate)
Also, from the app list, disable the X-Alert app.
