Sony Xperia M5 rear camera not focusing

Hi, I've had my xperia m5 for a week now. When using my rear 21 mp camera at short range my photo's looks great but at long range, about 1 metre away and further is is completly blurred. No matter what focus setting I use in normal mode or in auto superior it doesn't change at all. I have the latest android 5.1 firmware installed and there are now smudges or scratches on the lens. Is there a setting I missed or is the device faulty?

@jonsels

Could you post some picture samples and which camera settings you are using?

DSC_0094.JPGHow do I post photos? When in manual mode I use single auto focus mode and with scene selection turned off. When I have landscape scene selected my photos are perfect but when recording video I dont have the scene selection option. In auto superior mode it should also detect landscape scene but it doesn't.

I get slightly better results than that (ie the items to the right would be in focus) but I can never get the house at the back to be in sharp focus.

The result you post is kinda what I get from the front camera, no matter where I focus.

Sony have not resolved this even when I gave it to them.

Well my phones still under warranty so I'm gonna send it in to get fixed or replaced.
