My new Xperia M2 is not responding from the touchscreen. The buttons on the side are working but touchscreen not reacting to anything.
I can't go through the sony Smartphone update service because i have to switch the phone off before running it and I can't switch off the phone without the touchscreen.
It's Sunday so struggling to get any technical support.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Your suggestion was very useful. My phones sensor just wouldnt respond, so did what you suggested and now its working..... Almost went out and bought a new one
Thank You! It helps:smileyhappy::smileyhappy:
Thanks for the advice above.
My handset is only 3 months old and has now twice just shut down and failed to respond to anything, no lights etc when plugged in. Both times it had plenty of charge and I have no idea what triggered the shutdown.
I had to hold volume up along with on/off button for about 15 seconds and the phone turned itself back on. It was a little temperamental initially but after switching off and on once more it seems to be working ok now.
Hi my phone was on standby and power buton would not respond,so i pressed reset button with a pin and then i turned it on with power button,good job i read your post thanks a lot,
Thank you so much for the advice, i almost cried when i couldnt do anything. I seem to have the worst luck with phones. thank you
I have this problem for weeks.I was so frustrated took it back to vodafone who returned within a week saying it was ok .
Returned home and restored from PC companion and guess it went dead .I have returned it to vodafone shop and he reset the phone using the pen and button (which did not work for me twice!!!!) and he said it was ok but I insisted on it going back. Phones can lock up but mine does to many times .My wife also has M2 aqua at the same time and it has never crashed !!!!!
HI YES THE VOL+ BUTTON AND ON/OFF SWITCH WORKED FOR ME
I had the same problem. Sunday November 1st, 2015. Followed instructions read below, and after holding powerbutton and volume-up for several seconds it rebooted immediately and after restart, the touchscreen worked again. Thanks!
