NFC stands for Near Field Communication and enables Sony devices to communicate and share music, videos and other data but simply holding one device close to the other. Music 'jumps' from the Xperia Smartphone to the NFC soundbar (or vice versa) - as it would if you used the MDR-1R headphones or any other NFC enabled devices
