Hello,
I have been experiencing a reboot issue on my Xperia V since last night's update to 4.3 Android. I have removed an update to Album, since that is the only other change. If I run PC companion repair, will all my apps be deleted? Any advice other than that?? Help, please.

A hard reset is like pulling the battery - As some phone like the Xperia S and Z series have a non removable battery
To perform a repair is quite simple but I would advise on backing up contacts etc - To do this open your contacts tap the option icon then Export then as .csv file then locate that .csv file and save it to your Pc - Then after a repair you copy the .csv file back open contacts then on the setup it will give you options one of these is to import then choose your .csv file and all contacts will be back
Anyway to perform a repair make sure your phone is fully switched off and disconnected from your Pc then on PC Companion choose Support zone then choose Update phone/tablet then it the pop up box in Blue writing choose Repair my phone/tablet then wait until prompted to connect your phone to do this making sure your phone is still switched off hold volume down and connect your USB cable - You may have to do this twice as the 1st time may be a case of installing the driver but if all goes well as it should the repair will take place - But unfortunately your phone will be factory reset - As for apps once you sign back into Google play if you had your apps etc backed up to Google then they should re-install, If not when you sign back in open the Google play options then locate and open My apps and swipe to all and there you will find all the apps you had installed
Yes running a repair will factory reset your phone meaning all data will be lost however if you have a SD card and you intend to run a repair then remove it 1st
OK, but before that, is there any advice on other possible solutions for my predicament? Any similar experience?
Try do do a hard reset this is Hold power and volume up until you feel three vibrations one after the other not one on it's own three will come soon after - Also if your battery is removable then check it's seated correctly ie: nothing trapped between the pins causing an intermittent connection
Thanks, Thommo, you've been quite helpful; I have checked the battery, it's not that; hard reset wouldn't perform (O.o), thogh I have done it on many phones previously, I am not a **bleep**-smrtphone-user :).
What exactly would a hard reset do for me, except prompt me to factory reset..? No..?
I would like to hear some other experience and/or solution before I dare to do such a thing, wouldn't like installing all my apps again, the phone is brand-new...

Guess that'll have to cut it, nothing else springs to my mind either.
Do you think I should update to 4.3 again, or leave it at factory version once I've done factory reset?
Is there any word from admins on what happeded here, what caused this glitch??
The Admins only work Monday to Friday The Mods are just like me but have the ability to ban members for abusive language etc and VIP's which I am if given the tools can move posts to the spam folder which is hidden away - however a factory reset from your phone is just that - There is no use for PC Companion however a full re-install is a repair as above in my earlier post - So if your going to perform a factory reset and it still happens then you would be advised by Admins also to perform a system repair and should the same happen then it could be considered a hardware fault then you would be advised to seek help from a Authorized Sony service centre - If it's still under warranty then I would advise you to take it back to them to who you bought it from to seek help
Edit
As for why it's happening it could of simply been a bad upgrade - A line of code that got corrupted - If that is the case then a Factory reset performed via your phone I doubt would fix it - Where as a repair via PC Companion would re write the whole code on your phone hopefully fixing your issue
One suggestion before you try a repair.Boot your phone in safe mode and see if your phone restarts:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/How-to-boot-your-phone-into-safe-mode/m-p/348008#U348008
If it does restart, I go for a repair, I presume?
But if it doesn't, then what?
