All Apps Hangs

KDL-40WD655

I've been using the internet apps (Home->All Apps) successfully for a long time, and the last time it worked was the evening of Friday 19 Oct. On Saturday evening (20 Oct), selecting "All Apps" caused the TV to hang and not respond to remote button presses, the only way out being to change channel which worked after 30 seconds or so. It's been like that ever since.

I can access the internet via the Netflix button, checking network connectivity results in a "Success", I can update internet content successfully, and all other computers in the house are working.

I've gone so far as to perform a System Reset back to Factory Settings, but the result is still the same.

It looks like the problem is at the Sony end of the internet. Can anyone help please?

Hi souterandweaver,

Welcome to our community!

I have good news! Sony has just released an announcement to confirm that there had been an issue with the apps which is now resolved. The apps should be back working automatically but if you're still having issues, you can try to refresh the internet content on your TV. Here's the announcement.

Let us know if the issue is resolved and mark this reply as a solution if worked on your TV to help others find it easily.

Cheers,
