I want to try HDR video.
I have an Amazon Prime account and go to Red Oaks [Ultra HD]. I pressed the Action Menu button and have selected HDR Video in the Picture settings. Then I go back to watch the video and everything looks the same. So I go back to the picture settings and it's gone back to Cinema Pro.
What do you have to do to watch HDR scenes correctly?
Hi there
HDR is only available for movies/shows that are designed for HDR.
See:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201648150
"HDR Amazon Video titles feature a "HDR" label, as well as HDR purchase and viewing options in the video details. Select Watch Now next to the HDR option to start playback."
Cheers
Hi there
Sony have conducted tests on HDR via Amazon Prime and they can confirm that it does work. The TV detects HDR content automatically.
However once playing back those HDR movies, there is no information to inform you that HDR is [ON]. When you stop playback the TV automatically goes back to the previous picture settings - which gives the appearance that HDR is not working, hence the reason why its gone back to Cinema Pro for you.
Hope this answers everything.
