Is there a way to turn off the idle tv standby

i have a sony bravia model number kdl-40z4500 and i went on to home, settings, features, timer,off and it wont switch off i really need help

According to the manual:

If you switch off the TV and switch it on again, “Sleep Timer” is reset to “Off.”

For me it worked by using uper button at the same time on/off button then unplugged the power cable all together. It works !!!

It has drive me crazy as I try it all the options which are shown in here.

I guess cut all the power and restart always works.

It took a while but here it is.  

Select the HOME> select SETTINGS> POWER> ECO> IDLE TV STANDBY > select OFF
