kdl-40hx803 firmware upgrades

Hi, Will the latest firmware upgrade shown on the Sony web site for the KDL-40HX803 include all previous firmware updates if you have missed any, there does not seem to be a history of firmware that you can reference against.

My TV has version PKG4.085EUT-0108 and the current update is firmware to PKG4.102EUT-0108, it says this improves the usability of TV for 3D sources, as i will not be using the 3D function on this set do i need this update?, if the latest version includes previous firmware updates then i presume i should download it?.

Yes, as far as Im aware, each frimware update contains all previous updates. In fact I think the file is actually the whole firmware as opposed to just an updated bit, so rather than just updating the firmware, it's replacing it.

New to this forum and just bought a kdl40hx803. How does one do an upgrade ? The Sony manual is virtually useless !

Hi loscotos...... Go to the sony site, download the update to pc or laptop, put it on a usb key and follow the instructions from the sony site to install.......
