Hi - need some advice/help. Our Sony TV is giving us some problems. From new there have been issues with the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) function. We have two other (older) Sony TVs plus a smaller LG TV and when they are switched-on the EPGs populate with programmes almost immediately. With our (relatively) new KDL-47W805A - it does not. It's necessary to laboriously select and tune in to the channels before the EPG information (just for the channels on that multiplex) to populate. Switching the TV off and then on again - requires this process to be repeated. We live in an area of good signal quality, have a new aerial that itself is boosted with a professionally installed amplifier. Yesterday another issue developed. After using the guide for few times - the guide it seems to lock and stop working. Pressing the button on the remote causes the white LED on the front of the TV to flash - but nothing happens. At the same time any other control (such as volume) also cease to work. Once this happens - with 30 seconds or so - the TV then switches off. Sometimes we get a red flashing LED on the front of the TV - which cycles for a minute or so. The TV then usually turns itself on again automatically. None of this has occurred today - but the EPG (as always) still refuses to populate automatically.
These are the steps we've taken. First to replace the batteries in the remote. To power-down the TV, removing and re-attaching the power cord. We have removed all the attached devices (video, HDD recorder, etc.). None of this has helped. What to do next? Very frustrating given the cost of this TV.
Hi there
Can you please ensure that your TV has the latest firmware installed:

Also can you perform a factory reset of the TV completely - this should clear out any "gremlins"
