Hi,
We have a Sony Bravia KDL-55NX813 in our conference room and we want to run Skype on it, with a Skype setup that is neat and tidy and won't need a computer/laptop.
The KDL-55NX813 is not Skype compatible, is it likely to have a software update that would enable Skype?
Otherwise we have been looking at two other options
Use a BDP-S590 BluRay player with the CMU-BR100
or
Purchase a new KDL-55HX853 and use a CMU-BR100, moving the old KDL-55NX813 to a conference room which we don't need Skype in.
Has anyone got any other suggestions?

Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi
Unfortunately there is no Skype update in the pipeline for that model - indeed depending on budgets, cheapest solution would be to get the Blu-ray player. But if you are looking at getting a new TV anyway - the new HX753 and HX853 are pretty much the best TV's you can buy at the moment - http://www.trustedreviews.com/sony-kdl-55hx853_TV_review

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Is using Skype through the BluRay player fairley easy to do?
It needs to be easy as it will be used by non technical people.
Regards,
Alex

Yup - just plug the camera in, enter your details and you are off. If you checkout your local Sony centre, they should be able to give you a demo with any luck.
Thanks
Great thanks, one other thing the BluRay player I was looking at if we go down the Skype option is the BDP-S590, would it be the better model compared to the BDP-S780 as I wasn't sure what the differnce was?
Slightly smaller form factor, based on the 2012 Internet Platform rather than last years, 4k upscaling and a few other nifty tricks, but frankly if all you are using it for is Skype, then it doesn't really matter, so maybe just get the better value of the two as you still need to budget for the Skype camera too I guess.
Thanks
Thanks for your help.
