Removal of VEWD TV Store

I notice Vewd is going to be removed from my Sony Tv.  Is it going to be replaced with something else? If not how am I to download apps I want/ need??

Today i start Opera TV store and see message opera tv store will be unavailable after 29.06.2019.

Why ?! My TV is KD-49ex7096 !

Hi there

I have a KD-55XF7003 Bravia Smart TV, today i have started getting the message 'this service will no longer be available on this device from 25th June 2019'.  so does this mean i now no longer have a smart TV as i will be unable to use the apps on my smart-TV.

Is Sony going to be releasing an update for the affected TV's to make them function like Smart TV's again, or am i going to have tv that was only bought at the end of last year without any apps like Plex

Whill see, if there arent any apss i am going to return the tv its under warrenty and it says its smart tv.

I  have the same problem. I use PLEX to watch programmes, but this was discontinued on my 2 year old tv, a month or so ago. However I found that by using the Opera app, I could use VEWD and access plex from there. However on 25 june, Opera (renamed VEWD) will also be discontinued.

This is absolutely unacceptable and possibly even illegal, as Sony is removing something that was included in my original tv purchase.
