Hi Shovas,

To make sure apps are up to date, go to Settings - Network - Refresh internet content.

Hi

thanks, I did it but the app version is from 2014, so I doubt it updated.

Hi. I’m using Sony device Model SonyDTV_KDL_55W800A.

Every time I try to open Netflix it gives the following error:

Netflix has encountered an error. Attempting to determine problem. And gives the following options:

Try Again

Exit

I have done a lot of troubleshooting but no luck. Any advise pls?

Hi @ahsanali12   You would probably be better off with a 2023 streaming stick. The chances are your television no longer has the processing power required for Netflix.

Hey Shovas,

Yep, updating apps on non-Android Sony Bravia TVs is a bit different, but it's doable. For Netflix, here's a quick fix: Go to the home screen, scroll down to the "Featured Apps" section, find Netflix, press and hold the "Enter" button on your remote, and then select "Update Apps."

Now, my experience with the 55w828b might not be spot-on, but generally, this trick works for most Sony Bravia models. If you're facing issues, make sure your TV is connected to the internet. Sometimes, it just needs a good online nudge to fetch those updates.

If that doesn't cut it, manual updating is the next move. Grab your computer, visit the Sony support site, find your TV model, and download the latest firmware. Load it onto a USB drive, plug it into your TV, and follow the on-screen prompts.

By the way, if you're interested in exploring alternative solutions or want more insights into TV software, you might want to check out Andersen. They often provide useful tips and updates for enhancing your viewing experience. Just a suggestion – hope it helps!
