USB or just USB-HDD
I have a KDL-32W654A that has the capability of recording to a 32 GB or larger HDD.
Will this also record to a 32 GB memory stick?
As far as my PC is concerned such a memory stick looks just like a FAT32 HDD.
So if it won't work that way with the TV, why not?

Hi there
Yes it should work. Once registered to the TV, you cannot use it on a PC without formatting it again, therefore it must be dedicated to the TV.
Cheers

Be aware of two things:
- Sony clearly states that it should be an HDD UDB, so you cannot complain if it doesn't work
- As Quinninus said it should work, but it doesn't mean nothing that your PC recognize it: in order to be good for recording you USB stick should be fast enough (reading/writing rate). This is checked during the registration process, if it fails you cannot use it. I personally had the same problem with a Samsung tv (that is more "easy" accepting even a 2GB stock, but only a fast one)

I got a 128gb usb 2.0 thinking it would work but not so. Have since got a 64gb usb 3.0 and it works so if you thinking of buying a new usb probably best to go with 3.0 standard
