Wall mounting Sony Bravia KDL-32WD756

A violent thunderstorm this week put paid to my 32” Sony Bravia TV.

Bought in 2014, model KDL32W7 LED HD 1080p, I had mounted it flat on the wall using, as per the manual, the table-top stand to hang it from the supplied wall bracket. I screwed the bracket to a horizontal wooden batten which was firmly attached to the stud wall.

The replacement TV delivered this afternoon is another 32” Sony Bravia (model. KDL 32WD756) . Hoping to make a swift changeover, I was disappointed to find that the table-top stand provided cannot be used for wall mounting the set. The same applies to using the stand from the earlier model since the  holes on the back of the new TV are positioned differently.

As Sony themselves do not seem to provide any means of now wall mounting 32” Bravia TVs, any suggestions please for a quick and simple method of flat wall mounting the new set?.

Hi @DavidHughN

Your choices are a simple cheap VESA mount or use the expensive Sony wall bracket SU-WL450.

Thank you for pointing out that the Sony wall bracket SU-WL450 can be used for 32 inch models  I had read somewhere on one of the pages on Sony's website that this was not the case, but presumably this referred to the older model.  I remained rather wary about the suitability and ease of wall mounting the TV using this bracket since there were no details in the Sony Bravia instructions.( In the previous manual, 8 pages were devoted  to showing how to wall mount the set. ) However I have a much clearer idea now having watched one or two  Youtube videos and used the provided online link to the manual.

(But it is still a pity that the method changed since I'll have to take down the existing bracket support and reinstall it 30 cm lower down on the wall. I am also irritated that the number of available HDMI inputs has been reduced to two from four but that's by the by ).

Hi I'm trying to get my sony bravia on the wall, however the powercable is soldered into the tv, and the wire is too short for where I want to put the tv, can anyone help, how can I extend the wire, dont want to plug it into an extension lead as a solution?
