Hi all,
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FS215S which initially had 2x256MB of RAM and I upgraded it after I purchased it to 1GB(2x512).
Now I want to upgrade it to 2GB's of Kingston RAM (DDR 2x1GB) but I am not sure whether my laptop will be compatible with that. If I am not mistaken in the specs it says that it is compatible with 1GB of RAM.
Has anyone tested it?Is it likely to work with 2gbs of RAM?
Thanx in advance!
Hi JS_Bach
According to the specs your FS215S is upgradeable to a maximum of 1 GB of RAM only...
Hi JS_Bach,
Unfortunately the architecture of your model only supports 1024MB of RAM max.
If you install more than this then the chances are that it will not be recognised, or worse still you could damage the motherboard
Hi im pretty sure that the ram sensors in your fs are only capable of reading 512 mb each so 1gb will be as much as you can put in, i reccomend that if possible you upgrade the speed of the ram this makes it seem like upgrading ram because it makes the memory accesable more quickly

Thank you guys!
I guess I am staying with what I have in the end of the day

As others have mentioned, the FS215S is limited to 1GB. Why do you want to install 2GB? Is it for Vista?
Thank you guys!
