3 cm purple line down centre of my screen

hi

there's a 3 cms purple line down the centre of the screen....no idea how it got there...can it be fixed or do I have to send it for repair?

Try connecting your Vaio to an external monitor, do you still have the same problem.?

Do you get the same purple line when in safe mode.?

To enter safe mode restart your Vaio and when you see the Vaio logo press the F8 key repeatedly..
