Activating a internal microphone

Can anyone tell me how I activate the internal microphone so I don't have to use an external one. I have a vaio FS395VP.

Click on the volume icon on the taskbar and go to properties > recording mixer and unmute the microphone

Hi,

I've managed to activate my microphone on my FS1S, but it's very quiet and very difficult to hear. When I turn either the speaker volume up or the microphone volume up, all I get is painfully high pitched feedback.

Can anyone help?

Doesn't suprise me, as they're very close together
