I've had my Vaio since just before April.
I installed Microsoft Flight Sim X on it the day after my birthday at the begining of April.
I noticed something odd that didn't happen on my desktop.
Whenever I press NUMLOCK to change the number pad controls the game screen goes blank for a second then comes back up.
I've tried everything to stop this and have just realised that it also happens when I press CAPSLOCK. The only suggestion I have is that it is the little tiny box that pops up whenever one of these 2 keys is pressed to show whether they are turned on or off.
Does anyone know how to turn this status display box off?
Problem solved.
Would you believe that despite the fact I've hunted round for a solution before tonight, I eventually find one the night I post this problem!!
It appears that I wasn't the only person having problems like this, quite a few others are as well, and not just in Flight Sim X either! Loads of other games are the similar.
Here's the solution I found, just incase anyone else needs it int he future.
The pop up is caused by a process called bttray.exe. (It's part of the Bluetooth support)
The solution is to edit this value in the registry:
(type regedit in your search window in vista - double click program - warning you can really mess up your system by playing around with REGEDIT)
click these fields
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
Widcomm
BTConfig
General
KeyIndication
(right click on KeyIndication and Change it from 1 to 0.
Reboot
Tada... Problem solved, no more popups!
