Assistance

1 - when you call sony assistance, almost the 1rst question is:

if you own your vaio for mor then ONE YEAR, you should get your credit card.

2 - When you buy a sony laptop, they tell you that the warranty is good for two years.

3 - I donn't think that, within the European Union, (you obviously don't live in the EU) that would not be acceptable, and i contacted a jurist to do whatever can be done in this matter. There are at least national laws to be respected...

4 - I also had a sony camera, 7,2 megapixel, wich I gave away immediatli after that phone call...

5 - I don't know if you are a Sony employee...but when people have problems to signal, it's not just a joke.

MMiranda,

It will be far easier for members to follow your thread if you hit the reply button, rather than starting a new thread, as this becomes very confusing.

In answer to your points:

1. The warranty is normally one year, but two years for Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Portugal, depending on the model and if bought after September 2003.
Check this out.

2. Contact the retailer/shop that told you this and ask them to confirm in writing.

3. I wish you luck with that and hope that you are successful.

4. None of us here are Sony employees, just other Vaio users.

Best of luck.

thank you for your suggestions.
I called vaio assistance in Portugal, and the answer was exactly as I said before...
By the way...i am within the 1rst year of warranty. But it is a matter of principles...even if this notebook allways worked very well.
I find the whole thing ridiculous, and it´s not a surprise if sony looses it's share in the notebook market. they're not serious.

One guess why the keys are broken.......no sense of humour.
If the warranty is still current then..... geez louise.... send it into Vaio Link to be repaired or give it to me. I'll find a good home for it. You know what Brazillians say about Portuguese...I didn't beleive it till now.

Brazil stopped paying Portugual 2 centuries ago.
Thats like us calling Australia a colony when they are one place behind the UK in Gross National Product. Ahh what could have been if you guys had won the Battle of Trafalgar. I'd have smaller marracas maybe. LOL
