Automatic brightness feature on the TT

Hi. I've just received my Sony VAIO TT and having lots of fun with it at the moment

I have a question regarding the auto brightness feature. I figured out that the white circle above the Delete key is a sensor and that it will adjust the brightness of the screen based on the ambient level of light. What's strange with mine is that it would dim the screen when the lighting is low and vice versa. Is this how it's supposed to work, I mean surely it would make more sense to make the screen brighter in a lowlit environment? Thanks in advance.

Hi AnotheRay and welcome.

Your sensor/brightness adjustment is working as intended.

I think the general consensus is that in low light a bright screen causes eyestrain and vice versa.

Really? But then again yeah, I guess it sounds logical. Thanks!

You're welcome AnotheRay.

You can disable this feature, if you wish, via Vaio Control Center - I think...
