Bios can't see hdd on start up.

Hi all.

Have a Vaio Laptop, mod no : VGN-FE41M running Vista.

Other night was browsing internet and there was a blue screen flash then nothing.

Now won't boot as says can't find Operating System.

HDD is fine, have tested.

Have tried another HDD just in case...nothing. Connections all seem ok, hdd seats well.

Bios does not detect hdd so I suppose this maybe a motherboard issue.

I have run pc check,  all tests pass, except can not see hdd.

Any ideas or any help would be great.

Thanks for reading.

Brad.

Yes no change though.

Its not been dropped, or exposed to any hot or cold enviro's. My only thought is maybe it got too hot and maybe some circuit board conection has broken.

Thx for reply though.

I take it since no answers that its time for a new laptop :slight_frown:  Just one thing...Does anyone know if there is a

chip on the motherboard that could be faulty, or maybe reflow on some part of it..clutching at straws here people..

Will a reflow solve my issue maybe, or is there a chip on board that may be faulty and could be reworked ???

It would be nice to see a pic of motherboard with this chip pinpointed.
