BIOS replacement... URGENT!!
My father bought old Vaio PC and he really needs to replace BIOS (of course he was playing with it which lead to destroying the file)
specifications:
PN--28472253-product code
PCV-RX417D-Model
D4170/2AH016.00230
ACPI BIOS REV.1001-P4S533VX-08/20/2002
SST 49LF020
So what I need is a gle1001.bin file...

I have forwarded this onto VAIO-Link, as the files don't seem to be on the website?

Hi Karla.Mazurek ,
Welcome to Club Vaio,
As this is a public forum it may be a good idea to edit your message and remove your serial number from your post..

Oh and remove your service tag as well, only you and Sony should know that number

Good point James, but I can't say I read it all because I knew it was irrelevant.

Would you mind posting the file in here? I'm not very experienced with Vaio link and Vaio forums... I still haven't managed to repair that bios
Bios models from Rx420 to RX480 would suit this.
I would really appreciate your help

If the board is allready unusable because of the destroyed BIOS, then you could try the original BIOS from the board manufacturer.
However, you will lose your warranty (should be over, allready) and support by Sony VAIO Link. I bet your recovery disks won't work too. (but there are work arounds)
And there is no warranty that it will work correct.
