hey wondering if anyone can help me, ive jus recovered my operating system after a registry cleaner totally knackered it, but now im gettin the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH, staying that DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, ive done hardware scans and everything is fine, even got a prof to look at it n hes stumped cause it wont llet him install nething at all
Microsoft give a few examples why this would happen. But if it was me I'd backup my important data and do a restore
Sounds like that registry cleaner has been too abrasive.
There's information about a hotfix here which may or may not help.
Good luck.
Just out of interest which registry cleaner was it?
Kee-Lo- tried the restore but it still comes up withe the error
Twisted-Rizla- cheers will try the hotfix n see if it works
Jumpsuit- it was WinASO Registry Optimizer
another BSOD popped up once PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA, but that hasnt popped up recentley jus that DRIVER one
Hi tommybhoy1978,
When you get the DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD message does it also state what is causing the problem..:smileyconfused:
no doesnt say wots causing it jus the usual stuuf, like if ive installed a new device n stuff
Hi Tommyboy,
If you have anything attached to your vaio try removing them and see if this stops the BSOD messages..
Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click your Drive icon > Properties > Tools > Error Checking.
You may get more information about the error in Event viewer.
to open Event Viewer right click My Computer and select Manage, then check in the System or Application folder, double click the error for further information..
Let us know any event error I.D. numbers, etc.
Also may be worth turning off "automatically restart after an error" then when you get a BSOD your system will stop and display the full Stop Error and blue screen.
To turn of right click on My Computer, click Properties then select the Advanced tab, click the settings button in Startup and Recovery and remove the tick from Automatically restart in the System failure area, and then click OK..
Hope this helps...:smileywink:
