Hi there, my sony vaio laptop model VPC-CA36/W has a built-in webcam, but i would like to use an external webcam instead for Skype.
I've tried looking for help in Skype, supposingly am able to change my default webcam following their steps: tools -> options -> video settings -> select webcam. but i couldn't figure out why there are no other webcam
options listed on my "Option page".
I've tried looking for the installation cd of my webcam as well, but there isn't any either.
I've tried disabling my built-in webcam from the device manager, but the external webcam option still wouldnt appear. What should i do?
Hi giinaxoxo,
What is the make and model of the external web cam? It is normally necessary to have to install drivers for the machine and software to recognise the device unless it uses native Windows drivers.
