hello
i have a vaio fs315e and i noticed that when i put me year on it (the room being quiet) it makes a buzzing sound. also when i deconnect my adaptor and switch to battery there is a little louder buzzing sound coming from the right speaker area.
is this a problem or it's just me being paranoia ?
Hi ado_ro,
Welcome to Club Vaio,
Unfortunately similar buzzing noises have been mentioned before and I don't think a reason or solution was ever found...:smileysad:
Have a look at this thread for further info..
Hi, This is a common issue. For whatever reason, sometimes the noise your Hard Disk Makes/misc internal computer noises, are captured by your sound card and played via the speakers.
Try this:
Open the volume control in the windows taskbar, select 'advanced' and then change the checkbox everything you can see... this will make more different volume bars come up in the volume mixer. Now, mute all the volumes one by one- eventurally you would have muted the thing that is pushing that noise through your speakers. (usually its the 'line in/mono mix').
Hope this helps!
Charlie
thanks thalamus.
ill go in service today and see what they tell me..
i also asked a friend of mine (whom has a hp cant-rmbr-what) and he has the same buzzing sound.
ps: the laptop is really quiet. and those sounds are heard only when u press your year to the laptop and listen.
acecooper, im using linux right now and ive tried to mute it...same thing...its not the speakers.
You're welcome, ado_ro
This problem CAN stem from the computers internal LCD Inverter module (the bit that drives the LCD backlighting) and some users found it helpful to dim the screen to reduce the noise...
Send it back to Sony for an Under-guarantee repair.
Hi James,
I think it may be the sound appears only when the screen is less than maximum brightness..:smileyconfused:
Oh I thought it was the other way around? [:">]
Cheers Thalamus, goes to show I haven't been here in a while!
Even so, a Sony repair is your best bet.
