My laptop is A397XP, I always need power supply to use it.
So, do I need to take the battery out from the laptop?
Or, I could put the battery in the laptop and plug the power at the same time?
Which way is good for the battery?
Thank you very much!
If you don't use the battery then yes, but charge it every month to keep it in top order.
well to make the batt last longer makes shore u only charge it when the battery is fully drained out and then charge it fully.
What do you mean Kee-Lo? Is it possible to run w/o the battery? I've always thought that the battery needs to be in place all the time.. Hm

Apple provide some guidelines for looking after your notebook battery that will apply to all notebooks.
my laptop were also always on the power supply, i did check out the user manual about it and its written its ok to put your battery inside your laptop while on power supply.. anyway here is what i do.. once a week i will unplug the power supply with the laptop still on and used untill the battery is empty then plug in the power supply back. My battery only last for 2-3 hrs max, and its a A317S.
Hi all
the worst what you can do to your Li-Ion battery is keep it in the
hot notebook case! If you want to extend the battery life and reduce wear, then always keep it outside when not in use.
Storage with 50-60% charged is also better than have it fully charged. Do a full charge cycle every second month.
