Can the QSI CDRW/DVD SBW242U burn DVDR disks?

I only ask because I just bought a Vaio K115B Laptop from http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/179949.html where it states that this laptop can burn DVDR disks.

However, Nero and RecordNowMAX are picking it up as a CDRW drive only.

Do I need to update my burning software, or are Comet telling lies on their website, and this model only ships with a CD burner?

It will NOT burn DVDs as it's just a DVD-ROM.
There's nothing wrong with your drive.

Yeah, thats what I figured. Comet made a mistake on their website, and it looks like someone just copied and pasted half of the laptop specs up there.

They are being v.good about it - they have offered to refund my money, or give me a replacement laptop that does have DVDR so I can't really complain. Just wanted to check before I phoned them up
