CD's which are compatible with Vista but not running on my VAIO VGN-FW21M

Hey guys,

I'm having a problem regarding some CD's loading on my laptop. My laptop is only about 3 months old now but when I insert certain discs (not every disc) which say they are compatible with Windows Vista some of them don't seem to auto-run or load at all.

After inserting the disc, I've tried going onto My Computer -> double-clicking on the DVD-drive but it then says 'Please insert a disc into the DVD-drive' and ejects the CD. I've also tried inserting the CD -> My computer -> Right-clicking on the DVD-drive -> Explore... but the same thing happens (the same message comes up and the CD is ejected).

Just wondered if anyone else had encountered the same or a similar problem and if you know how to fix it then your help would greatly be appreciated

Hi Nick and welcome.

Have you tried cleaning both the disks in question and the drive laser lens?

Also if you are talking blank media then try different manufacturers – Sony and Verbatim are usually very reliable...
