Hi Every one,
I need some help to change my XP Home to Professional. The problems was I don't know how save the Vaio drivers before format. Have a secure backup?
I try before and lost some drivers.
I have a Vaio VGN-A217S.
Thanks!!!!!!
Hi moranggo,
This is not really a good idea on your model as it is a media centre Vaio and relies on Vaio Zone and Sony Programs and Utilities to work the TV and the Remote Control. You will probably lose a lot of these features if you install XP Pro.
You can download all the Sony Preinstalled Drivers and the Sony Preinstalled Utilities from
Sony Downloads A217S
and these should be all you need to use with XP Pro to get the basics working. You will lose all you prinstalled software and this is not available for download. If you decide to go ahead, you will need to read this sticky thread:

In the XP Prof the messenger work properly.
Do you have some idea about this problem?
Thanks!!!!!
Have you tried installing the newer Windows Live Messenger . That could solve the problem if no then you could try another program that is similar - Pidgin
Yes!!! I tried its suggestion and failed. Before I have used the version 8.0 Beta but after than the messenger go down. I don't know why only in XP Home?
Are you using Service pack 2 for both as most programs will only support this now as support for xp and xp sp1 have now ended?
Thank you for the answer!
