Connect Vaio to TV

Hi,

I am trying to connect my FS415S to a new Samsung LCD TV via the VGA socket on the side. I can not get the TV to display or even find the PC Connection. I am running with XP.

Any help would be Appricated

Hi glenann and welcome to Club Vaio.

Unfortunately this problem comes up on these forums from time to time. Sometimes the issue gets solved but for some others there does seem to be an unexplained incompatibility between some Vaios and some Samsung displays when using the VGA sockets.

The FS-Series seems to be particularly prone to this problem. Sadly, I have not heard of any solution.

did you use a VGA-Cable with 15 pins? I had the same problem (LE-46f86bd) and solved the problem.

First I tried out a VGA-Cable with only 14 pins. No connection with my Vaio, but my brothers IBM worked propper. So I just tried out a VGA-Cable with 15 pins and oh wonder.... it works.

Maybe you can solve your problem like this as well.
