Connecting to home theatre system using optical out on XL series

Is all I need to do buy a cable and plug it in or do I also need to change the settings? And assuming I can get WinDVD to play sound of Blu Ray discs is this the best way to get sound?

yep you'll need to configure your sound (through control panel) and ensure its set to either hdmi or spdif as default and mce will need to be configured to spdif but its pretty simple, plug in a toshlink optical cable from the 'out' on the xl to your input on your ht system
