Did anybody know how to share a file or folder over the wireless network?

Did anybody know how to share a file or folder over the wireless network? i know i can share a file with cable network, can the wireless network do the same thing like cable?

A really usefull feature of shared folders when you have a VAIO notebook is that you can have your notebook hooked up to your home cinema system, and then use your desktop as a media server and stream files from your desktop to your laptop to watch on the TV, really saves your HDD space!
