Digitalcamera - Connect problem with the VP with the CANON IXUS 500

Does anyone know why I cannot download directly from my canon IXUS 500 to the VP. Please don't tell me they are not compatible!
Thanks a lot

It's the same for my Canon Ixus 430. Sony doesn't want that It work. It's not compatible.
Maybe we can write each one of us a message to enjoin Sony finding a software to make it work : a new update for theirs customers

to everyone having trouble with connecting his camera to vp:

Sony said from the beginning of it all that the vp is compatible with cybershots and maybe some other cameras that could be from other manufacters

so i think you should try your best to see if your camera is compatible and know when to just quit trying.i know it mst be very frustrating but thats just the way things are.

Now about Elkingti i can say he is the rudest user online i ve had problems with him myself in the past.
i think sony should have provided some vaio masters with the advantage of KICKING people out of the forum cause some of them really dont know how to talk to other people and respect nothing!!!

I suppose that Canon ixus series is not compatible with VP at all!
That's might be Canon didn't include the mass storage feature in their cameras. So it's not a problem from Sony or VP, it's Canon's problem guys! Change your cameras if you want compatibility!

And MadarbWot, I agree with you 100%

exactly diablovaio...
sony never promised that our cameras would be 100% compatible!
thats why in the official site of presenting vgp api they had a list of suggested devices that would be compatible!

I have to agree here.

It's no problem to change the USB mode on my Cybershot. So, Windows recognizes my Camera as Digital Camera or as MemoryStick. Or I switch to picture bridge and connect the Camera directly with the Printer. I don't know if you can do this with a Canon.

Sorry guys for my bad humor, but sometimes i go nuts with this VP thing.
I don't swim in money, so i'm very frustrated with the VP.
It's unbelievable the behaviour of Sony.

DiabloVaio and MadarbWoT, sorry

Anyways, everything in the past is history now, let's forget'em.
We are here because we want a better VP, if VP was perfect, I wouldn't personally bother coming here and posting!
