Dirty Vaios

Hello people, I'm looking for any help you can provide or similar experiances you can tell me about.

I know this is long but please read
Right, since I got my Vaio, model VGN-FS285E a year ago this August past, I have had a slight problem with my "X-Black" screen. Around the edges when the screen is black (when playing DVDs or Screensaver usually) there is a brightness around the edges, I have looked in store and found that the display models do not have the same brightness around the edges. Over time this issue has got worse, where at first the computer had to be on a while for the brightness to appear, now it's on all the time, and when the screen is dark, if you touch it in the centre (I know you shouldn't do this) it goes rippling white and returns to the correct colour after contact is removed, but in the brightness areas a white mark stays for a second or so before it returns to its pre contact state. I have phoned customer services a number of times about this and they agree the screen should not be like this. My main problem is that I need my computer for University, and they have agreed if I want to fore them to take it away and look at it under warranty as it was under warranty when I told them about this. I can live with it being away for a couple of weeks but not for months. What should I do? On the windows screen with blue background you can't notice the problem, I am also worried if they change the screen I will end up with one with a deffective pixel in the middle of it which would really **** me off. THanks for reading this and for any feedback,

Andy

Hmm.. If I were you then I would def.... send it in and get it fixed - Anyways I don't believe that you're going to wait for months to get it back more like 2 weeks or so.

Sincerely

ZyRaIN

A note, my Vaio is now due to be picked up on wednesday, hopefully fix the problem of which the lady seemed all too aware of, another case of shoddy workmanship.

Unfortunately I don't get a reading week :slight_frown: but I have arranged for my laptop to get taken away tomorrow and the lady told me that turnaround should be between 7 and 15 days. So hopefully as it's the start of the year (uni year) i wont miss it too much for academic purposes. Also I have a sound card (headphones input) problem which I have been told if it's "physical damage" even though the problems internal I could be liable for delivery charges, but they will now check this and if i would have to pay for repair they should phone me and I can tell them not to repair it and wont cost me anything because it's going in for a different problem  I also have a PCMAI (or whatever it is) Creative soundcard, but my stupid speakers were cracking today even with that in grr so hopefully they can fix that too
